Wright Racing Release 30-1-2007

It certainly is a tough gig racing sprintcars and nobody knows that better than Andrew Wright. After a season he would much rather forget, moves are afoot for this hard charging throttle stomper to return to racing hopefully before season’s end.

In an event that has brought a big smile to the mans face, a “COOL” chassis has recently been purchased and will take up residence in their Muswellbrook workshop in the next week or so. Andrew has campaigned Maxims for most of his sprintcar exploits but with the change to the cool machine it is hoped that a huge change in the luck department will also arrive at the Muswellbrook workshop along with the chassis.

But having a chassis with nothing to put in it is very much like having the strawberry’s without the cream, thus in a heart wrenching decision, the team has had to sell their “Hino Hilton” (the teams hauler) to finance the purchase of those light weight go fast bits to get the “Cool” thing onto four wheels. As Andrew put it “it’s no good having a flash hauler if you don’t have a sprintcar to put in it”, so its pretty much back to the future as the team scales down their comfort zone on their seven hour round trip to the track each race night in pursuit of creating a sprintcar that will haul the mail as the loud pedal is nailed to the floor

With the team exploring every perceivable option in the search for said go fast bits, the news that the Wright Racing team has sadly lost just about all of their sponsorship agreements for this current season was probably more of an inevitability than not. But not being one to sit on his hands and cry about it, Andrew has been working hard on chasing some new sponsorships deals that may finally give this deserved man a progression from the shoestring budget bracket up to a point where the spares section would have much more than Old Mother Hubbard would ever have in her cupboard.

With the beginning of season 06/07 version 3 nearing for this talented Hunter native, to again strap himself into the office and enjoy the adrenalin rush that comes hand in hand with driving a sprintcar, the team would like to pass on their sincerest thanks to all those people and supporters that have stuck by Andrew and provided their undivided support. When the traditional Wright Racing Livery adourns the track once more, you can rest assured that Andrew will not only be driving for himself and his team, but all the supporters, businesses and race fans that are behind him.
